Why are you
transferring to Fredonia?
I’m switching my major from dental hygiene to biology so I
can pursue dentistry.
What makes you want
to become a dentist?
Ever since I was little its always been my dream. Coming out
of high school I didn’t think I was smart enough to be a dentist, but when I
came home from school for Christmas break I worked as a dentist’s assistant.
After that experience and after doing well my first semester in college I knew
I could do it.
Initially you did not know if there would be a preseason roster spot for you at Fredonia. After getting
several positive reviews from former coaches, watching your game film, and
meeting you in person it was obvious you're a great player. But early on there
was a real possibility that your volleyball career was over. What was your reaction?
I was really turned back because I’ve been playing
volleyball my whole life. I tried to accept it at first because I was going to
school for biology, not to play volleyball. But after a while I realized I
can’t not play so I’m going to prove to him that I can play and that I deserve
a shot.
You’re a very
versatile player. When we went to lunch with a couple girls on the team one of
them asked what position you play. You responded, “pretty much everything.” It
wasn’t cocky, but a very honest answer. Where does this versatility come from?
Growing up playing club volleyball I never had a set
position. I’ve always been the girl who got thrown in wherever. If a player
ever got injured I would get moved to a new position. I’m now able to jump into
any situation and play any position to get the job done.
What will you bring
to the team?
I know a lot about the game and have a lot of athletic ability.
I’m a hard worker and I want to win. Personally, I’m very outgoing and have a
positive attitude.
