8th Straight Victory!
Last Tuesday we faced Medaille for the second time this season, this time in our home gym. The first time we met we kept the Mavs far off balance and won in three sets. Hopefully we'd see similar results in front of our home crowd.
Our serving, usually one of our strongest attributes, was quickly neutralized by the Mavs as their serve receive was on target all evening, so much so that we dropped the first set 23-25. Our only choice was to start gaining ground in the serve-recieve battle, allowing us to more effectively run our offense. This certainly happened in the final three sets, but Medaille put up a great fight with superb floor defense. In the end however we won the match in four sets (25-18, 25-18, 25-22).
This was the second-to-last home match for our seniors. As senior night approaches (October 29th!), bittersweet feelings are starting to circulate in the locker room as it becomes a reality that our seniors will soon be moving on. But not yet! We still have work to do...
