The volleyball team received the 2011-2012 Team Academic Excellence Award at the Athletics Gala on Sunday and Sarah Zureck was a final nominee for the Female Athlete of the Year.
Zureck's stellar career earned her a nomination for Female Athlete of the Year against three other Blue Devil female athletes. Sarah Ficarro (Diving), Amy Simon (Lacrosse) and Reilly Condidorio rounded out the four nominees. Congratulations to Reilly Condidorio who was named the 2011-2012 Female Athlete of the Year.
The volleyball team earned a cumulative GPA of 3.39 when considering the spring 2011 and fall 2012 semesters. This was the highest of all the Blue Devil teams and earned us the trophy. We'll be finding a place for displaying said trophy in our new locker room. I know everyone is looking forward to defending the title so we can keep this beauty in our locker room. It's even bigger and shinier in person!
