Twas the Night before Ryan's Birthday

This blog post was written by freshman Liza Beardsley:

This past week, May 8th, we had the privilege of celebrating our assistant coach’s birthday! Ryan always appreciates a good practical joke so our team decided to sneak into Dods late at night and cover the intramural office with hundreds of pictures of his smiling face. Aside from covering every
bulletin board and cubby we also put his picture on door nobs, clocks and replaced the blue devil’s face with Ryan's. We got our creative juices flowing by hiding pictures of Ryan that people may not find for years to come in hopes that when he does find them, it will bring a smile to his face. Needless to say, he was shocked when he stepped foot into the office the following morning.

Simply getting a cake and signing a card does not even begin to explain how much our team appreciates Ryan. Ryan is the glue of our team. The amount of effort and time he puts into our team is immeasurable. He pushes us to our limits in the weight room to make sure that we are the best athletes we can possibly be. We can always count on Ryan for a good
workout, a laugh, or a heart to heart. We often find ourselves spending hours just talking and sharing stories with him simply because we enjoy his presence. His wisdom, kind heart and selflessness are just a few of the many qualities that make him such an ideal role model for our team. Our volleyball family would not be nearly the same without him. Knowing Ryan has made us grow not only as athletes, but more importantly as people.

Happy Birthday, Ryan!
