I remember joking with Hannah during the season that doctors had it easy: they only need to understand the workings of a human being. Veterinarians need to understand every other living species!
What may be harder than either of those: getting into
veterinary school in the first place.
That’s what Hannah is currently in the midst of: the
anxiety-provoking process of being admitted to one of the most exclusive
graduate programs in the country. As I write this, she’s either being
interviewed or considered by Cornell, Ohio State, Tufts, and Kansas State. Cornell
was recently named the #1 vet school in the country!
We’re going to post an update as soon as we know more, but
in the meantime if anyone from Cornell, Ohio State, Tufts, or Kansas State is
reading this, please know the following:
Hannah Manning is quite literally one of the kindest and most
compassionate young women I know. She is exactly the type of person you’d want
to go to if your puppy gets sick, if your iguana swallows a rock, or if you
really just want to spend time with a gentle-hearted person. When my own dog of 14 years died two months
ago, I imagined Hannah being the veterinarian that was there with us in his
last moments… I wouldn’t have had it any
other way.
Good luck Hannah, we love you,
