3-1 Victory at Medaille

Hannah Manning had
10 kills and 6 aces
Tuesday night.
Up until this point, our team has not played in front of an opposing crowd. That all changed Tuesday night as we traveled to Medaille for an evening match. Their fans came out in large numbers to fill both the lower and upper viewing areas. It would be an exciting new element for our team to face and we would not disappoint, winning the match 3-1 with scores of 25-16, 25-16, 23-25, and 25-21.

Kelly did a great job running our offense (especially hitting .500 in the second set!) and finished with 34 assists, and 11 digs. We had a lot of offensive firepower as Lindsey had 14 kills, Hannah with 10 kills, and Jess with 8. Hannah also had a strong night behind the line (among many others), finishing with 6 service aces. Defensively, Lauren Hokaj had one of her best matches frustrating Medaille's hitters with 26 digs and she also had four kills from the back row.  Meredith had another strong night blocking as she finished with 7 blocks.

We're proud of the way our team has performed under pressure. We still have a lot of work to do, and a lot of time to do it with no matches scheduled again until October 5th when we host the Blue Devil Invitational. Our team has evolved into a more mature, focused group heading into the next month of the season. This is an exciting time!
