3-2 WIN OVER FISHER

Chelsea had 10 kills and 7 blocks
in the win over Fisher
We are entering the stretch run of the season now and are looking to maintain our momentum going into post-season play in November.  That stretch run began last night against a tough St. John Fisher team who came off of an undefeated weekend in their conference play.

Fisher won the first set 21-25.  Hannah started with 5 kills and Jenny had 4.  A bit strange but we hit .542 in the first set and didn't win.  We had a lot to build on.  Fredonia won the second set 25-22 and the third 25-19.  Too many hitting errors and a few service errors resulted in a 17-25 fourth set and a fifth set to decide the winner.

Trailing 6-12, we began our comeback.  Lindsey hammered a ball down the line to send Brit back to serve and then Chelsea had some nice touches at the net during a long rally which led to another Olson kill cross court to make the score 8-12.  Mick dug a down ball which Brit set outside to Lindsey again for a tool off the block and another kill.  Timeout Fisher.  Jenny dug a ball off our block and Mick had another dig before Fisher was called for a double and the lead was down to two.  Another dig by Mick led to Jenny tooling the block and a huge solo block by Lindsey against the opposite evened the score at 12-12. Timeout Fisher.  Brit continued her tough serving and Fisher was out of system the last three points... another Lindsey kill, another lift on a tough pass and an ace to finish the comeback.

It wasn't the way we drew it up, but we continue to show a lot of fight.  A great road win over a strong team was just what we needed.
