SUNYAC Pool Play opened up with the first round taking place at Buffalo State.  We got our first win against Brockport Friday in a 3-1 victory.  The Blue Devils handled the Eagles nicely in the first set winning 25-18.  Set 2 & 3 were tight and split between both teams.  Fredonia then finished Brockport off with a 25-12 score in the fourth and final set.  Lindsey was a huge factor leading the team with 9 kills while also adding 10 digs and passing a team best 2.37 in serve receive.  Manning added 7 kills while Re, Em, and Jenny all had 6 each.  Zureck led with 18 digs while Lis had 36 assists and 10 digs.

In the second match of the night we played a very hot Buffalo State team and lost only our third SUNYAC Pool Play match in five years.  A tough loss but we have to give credit to the Bengals.  They played really well... especially at the net.  Zesus had a match high 18 digs and Jenny had 7 kills.  We play the Bengals first in the next weekend of SUNYAC Pool Play at Brockport.

Saturday was a new day and we played very well earning two wins over Oswego and Geneseo.  In the match against Oswego, we prevailed 25-12, 25-7, 25-18 and controlled the match from start to finish.  Hanner put away 10 kills (.563), Emily, Jenny and Reanne had two blocks each and Z had a match high 14 digs and 4 aces.  Jess played well with 10 assists, 3 aces and 6 digs.

The match against Geneseo turned into a battle to see who would be second place after the first weekend and we made a statement winning in dramatic fashion in 3 sets (26-24, 25-16, 25-23).  Lis led the offense with 33 assists, 6 digs and a block.  Chelsea was strong at the net with 5 kills in 10 attempts and 4 blocks.  One of her blocks was a solo at the end of the third set to seal the victory.  Olson put away 10 kills and had 15 digs while Zesus had an impressive 21 digs in the match.

We are all looking forward to the next round of pool play!
