Preseason reflection, part six: junior Courtney Poirier

This post was written by junior Courtney Poirier

Junior defensive specialist, Courtney Poirier

This is part six of a twelve-part series of reflections our players write before reporting for preseason. Juniors are asked the question: "How will you be the leader that Fredonia Volleyball needs now that you are an upperclassman?":

Now that Courtney is a junior she will start to become a leader of this team.

Courtney is the type of person who likes to lead by example. She is not one to tell people what they should be doing, she would rather show them what to do.

There are plenty of other teammates that lead the team by saying the right things at the right times. However, it can be difficult to do the right thing despite what you are told. Continuously saying the right things over and over will only get your team so far -- someone has to start doing them in order for changes to take place. Courtney plans on being that person and will work hard to set a good example for this team.

One person doing the right thing won't make an entire team successful, so Courtney will strive to get the whole team moving in the right direction.
