The necessity of hard hats

By Ryan Maloney

"Until you stop breathing, there's more right with you than wrong with you." ~ Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn

Every Saturday one of our players is awarded the "Hard Hat."

The Hard Hat indicates that you've done something special that week. It could be that you played well in a match. It could be that you supported your teammates. It could be that you went through adversity and showed resilience. It could be anything.

The previous week's Hard Hat winner awards it to the next person. In that way, everyone is being taught to give praise.

Regardless of your health, until you stop breathing, there's more right with you than wrong with you. And regardless of how many volleyball matches you won, there's more right with your team than wrong with it.

You just have to remember to look.
