Getting more people to come to your volleyball matches

Ask a stranger to come to your volleyball match and you're almost certain to get a "no." You might even make an enemy acting like a human pop-up ad.

Ask the person you sit next to in class and you might get a reluctant "yes." After all, he'd feel guilty seeing you the next day if he didn't come.

Ask a close friend to come and you'll certainly get a "yes." She loves you and feels good supporting you.

But if you ask your team's closest supporters to come, you'll get a quizzical look. Of course they're coming -- they'd drive 500 miles and take a week off of work to see you play.

Spend most of your time delighting the last group of people, and they'll tell their friends about your game for you.
