Things to say, and not to say, to a recent graduate

By Ryan Maloney, assistant women's volleyball coach

May 2016 graduates Kelly Edinger (left) and Lauren Hokaj (right)
"You enter the forest at the darkest point, where there is no path. / Where there is a path, it is someone else's path. / You are not on your own path. / If you follow someone else's way, you are not going to realize your potential." ~ Joseph Campbell

Things not to say:

"What are you going to do with that major?"
"How much does that job pay?"
"Where are you going to live?."

Things to say:

"Take a risk."
"I'm proud of you."
"I love you."
